Cot sheets will laterally transfer up to 130kg in weight, allowing the linen to be transferred with the patient. Operationally only one set of linens are required from the ambulance to either discharge or to admit the patient to the ward. This reduces cross-contamination and laundry expenses. These lightweight sheets are designed to remain with the patient throughout their hospital stay and should be disposed of when the patient is discharged or no longer requires the sheet.
They are not intended for laundering. Lightly soiled sheets may be wiped clean using a dilute chlorine-based solution or an approved sterilising fluid.
For all repositioning and manual handling solutions it is recommended to seek advice / approval from a manual handling expert. -
